TINN

Vehicle brokerage is an organised sharing of minibuses in the community. Minibus owners work in partnership with a community transport organisation (such as TINN) to manage the community usage of its vehicles and take on the operational responsibilities. In order to provide this service and continue to expand, we also need additional vehicles to be entered into the TINN brokerage scheme.

There are mutual benefits to both the vehicle owner and TINN. The benefits include:

Financial — sharing the cost therefore saving money, by using vehicles when not used by the minibus owner. Minibus owners are reimbursed in monetary terms per mile. Access to low-cost fleet insurance.
Operational — sharing the burden of operational control.
Strategic — transport resource being made more widely available, which is attractive to funding agencies and trusts.

The advantages to the community include:

Transport is made more widely available to the community therefore reducing social exclusion and rural isolation.
Organisations without their own vehicle can gain access to a pool of minibuses and MIDAS-trained drivers.
